This opportunity is with Syneos Health Consulting, an industry-leading consulting firm specializing in the biopharmaceutical industry providing services across a comprehensive range of key Practice Areas including commercial strategy and planning, medical affairs, risk and program management and pricing and market access. You’ll join a team with industry focus, depth of functional expertise, and strong scientific and market knowledge that is uniquely positioned to tackle highly complex business and market challenges to develop achievable strategies for our clients.

***Syneos Health is looking for a Data Scientist with solid statistical skills, a creative and entrepreneurial approach to solving problems, and experience in working with healthcare data sets. You will collect and analyze data, build models and provide forecast analyses while managing innovative research projects and developing and validating new methodologies. The Data Science team helps find more efficient and effective ways to commercialize new products.

**Types of projects**

***A small sampling of the kinds of problems we are solving:

- Characterize networks of influential healthcare stakeholders and identify high-centrality nodes
- Use historical data of promotional activities to forecast a range of outcomes of a new campaign
- Identify factors that influence patients’ adherence to treatment regimens
- Optimize frequency with which sales teams visit physicians’ offices
- Measure the effect of sampling and other promotional variables on prescribing behavior
- Find geographies with higher patient prevalence by identifying a sequence of diagnostic procedures predictive of the diagnosis

**Responsibilities**
- Translate business requirements into data collection and analysis plans
- Design and implement algorithms to simulate aspects of business or medical activity by combining large scale structured and unstructured data sources
- Visualize and present results and explain the importance and implications of research findings
- Create Powerpoint presentations; present work to business executives
- Collaborate with Consulting teams that include project leaders, project managers and other consultants
- Develop new analytics solutions. Help build an ever-growing code library to develop off-the-shelf business solution modules
- Share your knowledge by training others and documenting best practices

**Job Requirements**
- Python + relevant packages (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-Learn), SQL, visualization tools
- Academic or professional background in life sciences
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed attitude
- Motivation for self-directed learning
- Effective written communication and presentation skills
- Client service experience
