**Position: Data Scientist - Automotive Aftermarket**

**Description of Duties**

The Aftermarket team at S&P Global Mobility is in search of a Data Scientist to create cutting edge products in synergy with the global aftermarket and supply chain technology team. The aftermarket team provides vehicle census (PARC) and vehicle miles traveled (VMT) products providing insights on the vehicle fleet and how it is utilized. The team is working to extend the portfolio to provide additional insights on the vehicle fleet by adding additional connected and disconnected data sources to provide a more complete picture on the lifecycle of the global vehicle fleet helping organizations plan their product offering, understand vehicle fleet emissions, and better predict the ongoing shift to electric vehicles.

The position covers an array of data-centric activities aimed at envisioning products aimed at extending S&P Global Mobility’s class leading aftermarket product line to broaden support for aftermarket and extend into additional channels. The position is based in Gurgaon or Bangalore, India and will report to the Associate Director of Aftermarket Solutions, on the global aftermarket team.

**Responsibilities and duties**
- Model building using Python
- Data restructuring and transformation for large inter-connected data sets
- Harness machine learning and statistical modelling with a view to develop new insightful products
- Identifying, assembling, and enriching a wide range of structured and unstructured data to support new automotive forecasts and analysis
- Data wrangling and data mining to support product innovation and model creation
- Optimizing efficiency using cutting edge data science techniques (e.g. NLP, Deep Learning)
- Build/maintain ETL infrastructure

**Qualifications and skills**
- 3+ years’ experience as a data scientist
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related quantitative field
- Expertise in programming/scripting within Python is a must
- Well-organized, structured approach to problem-solving
- Proven experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Ability to build models (e.g. Linear regression, ARIMA, KNN, Logistic, Classification and Regression Trees, Naive Bayes) with a view to solve complex high dimensional data
- Hands on experience with AWS is desirable
- Familiarity with data science platforms such as KNIME is a bonus
- Knowledge of OLAP and ETL processes
- Good communication skills, collaborative team spirit, curiosity to constantly keep thinking of unique approaches and solutions.
