**Job Purpose**:

- A specialist in electrochemistry and materials science when it comes to cell systems. Other domains where expertise is necessary include solid state chemistry (structure and operation of active materials), organometallic chemistry (lithiated carbons and graphites), and chemical engineering (mixing processes, up scales, and rheology).Current and in-depth knowledge of electrochemistry and battery technologies, including cell components, active and inactive materials, and design.

**Job Responsibility**:

- You understand practical cell behavior constrains and how the battery performance characteristics are affected by the load constraints and support in decision making process to select right cell and cell chemistry from EV / ESS power and energy requirements.
- You will set and analyze cycling tests and to improve cell life model. You will own the tests and model forecasts that inform the lifetime warranty and you will collaborate closely with the testing and modelling teams to ensure that the tests are on track and that the model is accounting for the most important parameters.
- Analyze test results to provide insight on cell design and cell lifetime.
- Develop our cell lifetime model using experimental data.
- Monitor and troubleshoot relevant cell testing.
- You will collaborate with internal teams across to characterize battery materials, determine degradation mechanisms, and optimize cell performance.
- Interpret and quantify degradation modes of various battery chemistries and propose countermeasures
- Develop new electrochemical/chemical tests to analyze battery materials or parameters, elucidate fundamental mechanisms leading to degradation, and improve cell modelling
- You will develop new vehicle test schedules and analyzing vehicle data to validate cell performance and lifetime.

**Qualification**:
B.E/ B.Tech (Electrical and electronics) and M.E/ M.Tech (Energy Science) or P.hD (Energy science/ Electro Chemistry)

**Desired Skill**:

- Performance characteristics of Cell chemistries including gravimetric and volumetric energy density, rate capability, cyclability and shelf life, self-discharge, and cost.
- Advanced failure analysis and battery testing methodologies expertise
- Cell safety and risk assessment expert
- The ability to deduce meaning from experimental data is the most crucial qualification for this position.
- Demonstrated experience implementing new concepts and approaches, creating experimental designs and executing them independently.
- Programming coding experience (i.e. MATLAB, Python, and/or similar data analysis tool)
- Knowledge of electrical test equipment used in battery cell testing or equivalent
- Knows cell openings and mechanical testing in the lab and production environment.
- Proven record of time efficient task execution, detail oriented with strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills. Comfortable with frequent change of direction, dynamic work environment and passion to perform time-sensitive analysis sometimes under a tight deadline

**Working Conditions**:
Second and forth Saturday of a month is working
