**Job Summary**:
The **Restaurant Captain** acts as a team leader on the floor, ensuring smooth coordination between guests, service staff, and the kitchen/bar. The role is hands-on and requires a sharp eye for detail, great people skills, and the ability to handle high-volume service with style and professionalism.
**Key Responsibilities**:Guest Service Leadership**
- Welcome guests, assist with seating, and ensure a premium guest experience
- Take lead in managing VIP guests, large parties, and special requests
- Resolve guest issues calmly and efficiently
- Build guest rapport to encourage repeat visits and loyalty
**Service Management**
- Supervise and support servers, runners, and bussers during service
- Ensure accurate order taking, timely delivery, and correct presentation
- Oversee side work, table setups, and cleanliness standards
- Monitor table turnover and guest flow to maximize seating efficiency
**Team Coordination**
- Brief staff at the beginning of shifts (special items, VIPs, service focus)
- Train and mentor junior staff on service etiquette and SOPs
- Ensure service team follows sequence of service and bar/lounge etiquette
- Act as the communication link between kitchen/bar and floor team
**Operational Duties**
- Assist in stock checks, requisitions, and equipment upkeep
- Enforce hygiene, grooming, and safety standards
- Ensure compliance with liquor laws and responsible service policies
**Qualifications**:
- 2+ years of experience as a Captain or Senior Server in a bar/lounge or upscale restaurant
- Deep understanding of food & beverage service, especially cocktails and nightlife dining
- Strong communication, leadership, and team coordination skills
- Confident, energetic, and composed under pressure
- Able to work flexible hours including late nights, weekends, and holidays
