Role Purpose

within agreed criteria, liaising with applicants to chase outstanding documents and passing complete

compliance objectives by undertaking verification checks of documents, where possible, with the
relevant awarding bodies and holding interviews with all applicants who firmly accept their offer.
Be part of a team which processes up to 21,000 (Postgraduate) and 24,000 (Undergraduate)

deadlines, using initiative and attention to detail to assist the University in its aim to recruit high
calibre international students.
Principal Responsibilities % Time
To carry out interviews to applicants prior to the issue of a Confirmation of
Acceptance for Studies (CAS) document under the guidance of the Compliance team
using pre-agreed interview questions to ensure a robust and consistent approach.
To record interview outcomes within the Student Record System.

To verify qualifications for all applicants and check the comparability of international
qualifications using relevant sources of information.

Internal and External Relationships
External relationships: outside the University, the post holder has frequent and daily contact with

Internal relationships: within the Future Students Office the post holder must be able to operate
as an effective team member, supporting other colleagues and keeping them briefed on relevant
aspects of the work; in particular, there will be regular contact with the Compliance team based in
Leicester and frequent contact with colleagues in the wider Future Students Office team in order
to deal with a range of recruitment related issues, this would typically include, the Admissions
Office and the Global Recruitment team
Planning and Organising
The role requires high levels of planning, organisation and self-motivation. A high volume of

need to be carried out in a timely manner once applicants have paid a deposit. It is necessary to
balance competitive turnaround times with high standards of accuracy and compliance and to
ensure that accurate records are maintained in order that both Leicester and India teams have
clear oversight of the admissions, verification and interviewing processes.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent*
- Previous administrative experience, ideally in a customer service-based environment or

an academic environment*
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity*

Desirable
- Experience of working within the UK higher education sector or a similar environment.*
- Knowledge of the UK Higher Education system with a strong understanding of current

policies and practices and how they relate to international student recruitment and the
role of marketing in Higher Education*
- Fluency in a second language*
- Experience of studying in a UK university*
- Experience of living or studying overseas*

- Excellent administrative, word-processing and IT skills, especially Word, Excel, and use of

the internet*
