POSITION TITLE: Architect, Mechanical

JOB LOCATION: Bangalore, India

DEPARTMENT: Mechanical

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering /Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering or scientific discipline Master’s Degree preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Performing complex engineering calculations and relating results to controlled tests, including statistical analysis, tolerance analysis.
- Drive innovation in team thru new Concept, Advance Technology Development.
- Design, build and test prototypes to evaluate mechanical product design and ability to identify potential design challenges and drive technical decisions.
- Develop and validate test fixtures, test methods, and inspection methods. Independently create test methods and execute testing to verify new designs and/or changes to existing designs. Present test plans to broader audience.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working with Solid Works
- Some FEA experience using Ansys or SolidWorks is required to support design optimization. Ansys experience is highly desirable.
- Sound fundamentals in engineering fundaments like solid mechanics and strength of materials.
- Must have prior experience with Tolerance analysis and GDT.
- Produce and review design drawings and specification documents.
- Must be experienced in Injection Molded Plastics design.
- Work closely with external vendors and manage complex projects with them.
- Document and run design verification and validation testing which will be submitted to the FDA and other regulatory bodies.
- Drives design reviews and ensures on-time completion of Design Control deliverables.
- Use statistical techniques to facilitate decision making and to draw conclusions from available data.
- Ability to conduct a formal root cause investigation to identify potential design issues and drive technical decisions.
- Working in a development environment with an emphasis on medical device product development.
- Writing product requirements and design specifications.
- Support equipment/facility/process commissioning and validation desired.
- Working on a development team with an emphasis on minimizing time to market
- Design for manufacture of low cost, high volume electronic products.
- Understanding of ISO and medical device regulations, particularly with respect to the development of new products in a regulated environment is desirable.
- Experience working in cross functional team environments is required.
- Good knowledge on PFMEA, DFMEA, Risk Assessments, PQCS, CQCS Etc.
- Generation of ECO and ECN for Design, Test and Component changes. Ensure that all the ECO’s and ECN are implemented.
- Assists in developing fixturing and tooling design concepts and has the ability to express and implement ideas with tool designers.
- Supports new equipment acquisition efforts including machine selection, installation, validation, employee training, and other related equipment responsibilities as required.
- Assists in gage design, gage R&R, and implementation.
- Assists in the development of SOPs, other control processes, and practices as it pertains to a certain defined cell or area.
- Interfaces regularly with other Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing and Engineering teams, QA & RA teams, and Product Development Engineers.

- **SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Minimum 12+ years relevant experience. Experience in Designing, Injection molding, SolidWorks, project ownership, team managing experience, tolerance analysis & GDT.
- Good knowledge of general engineering principles.
- Familiarity with regulations for medical device development, (ISO15197, ISO134851, ISO13485, FDA) desired. Strong technical experience in mechanical engineering discipline with excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential.
- Extensive understanding of processes and materials used in the development and manufacturing of medical devices.
- Mechanical component and assembly design including injection molding, compression molding, sheet metal, etc.; new concept generation, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), selection of materials, knowledge on design simulation (FEA and CFD), PDM, development process, problem solving skills.

**Salary**: ₹150,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
