**Responsibilities**:
- **Sourcing**: Identify potential suppliers for materials, components, and services required for the production of power transformers. Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery speed, and reliability.
- **Negotiation**: Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
- **Supplier Management**: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process.
- **Purchase Orders**: Generate purchase orders and manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor inventory levels of critical materials and components, forecast demand, and coordinate with suppliers to prevent stockouts and minimize inventory carrying costs.
- **Cost Optimization**: Identify opportunities for cost reduction through supplier negotiations, alternative sourcing strategies, and process improvements.
- **Quality Assurance**: Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that purchased materials and components meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, supplier agreements, and correspondence.
- **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies governing procurement activities, including environmental, health, and safety requirements.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, preferably in the power transformer or electrical equipment industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing procurement activities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CPM).
- Experience with ERP systems for procurement and inventory management.
- Knowledge of power transformer manufacturing processes and materials.
- Familiarity with international sourcing and import/export regulations.
**Working Conditions**:
- This position typically operates in an office environment but may require occasional visits to supplier facilities or manufacturing sites.
- The Purchase Officer may need to work extended hours or weekends to meet project deadlines or address urgent procurement needs.
