**Introduction**:
Eye Mantra Hospital, a renowned healthcare institution specializing in eye care services, is in search of a dedicated OPD/IPD Coordinator with a focus on eye-related patient handling. This role is instrumental in ensuring seamless coordination of outpatient and inpatient services specifically tailored to the needs of our ophthalmology patients.
**Responsibilities**:
Patient Coordination:
Manage appointments and scheduling for eye-related consultations, surgeries, and procedures, prioritizing urgent cases and minimizing wait times.
Provide personalized assistance to eye patients, guiding them through hospital procedures, pre-operative instructions, and post-operative care protocols.
Coordinate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to ensure timely follow-up appointments and continuity of care for eye patients.
Scheduling and Resource Management:
Maintain an efficient schedule for eye-related OPD consultations, diagnostic tests, and surgical interventions, optimizing the utilization of specialized equipment and facilities.
Coordinate with the ophthalmic surgery team to allocate operating room time and surgical resources according to patient needs and surgeon availability.
Monitor bed availability in the ophthalmology ward and collaborate with nursing staff to facilitate timely admissions and discharges for eye patients.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Ensure accurate documentation of eye-related patient information, including medical histories, visual assessments, treatment plans, and surgical outcomes.
Maintain electronic medical records for eye patients in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
Prepare detailed reports on eye-related OPD/IPD activities, including patient volumes, surgical outcomes, and follow-up care statistics.
Communication and Liaison:
Serve as a primary point of contact for eye patients and their families, addressing inquiries, concerns, and care coordination needs with empathy and professionalism.
Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other members of the eye care team to facilitate interdisciplinary communication and coordinated patient care.
Communicate effectively with external stakeholders such as referring physicians, vision care specialists, and optical suppliers to ensure seamless transitions of care for eye patients.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Adhere to established protocols and best practices in eye care delivery, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives specific to eye care services, contributing ideas for process enhancements, patient education materials, and service innovations.
Stay updated on advancements in ophthalmic technology, surgical techniques, and evidence-based practices to enhance the quality and efficacy of eye care services at the hospital.
**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field.
Prior experience in ophthalmic patient care coordination or related role highly preferred.
Solid understanding of eye anatomy, common eye conditions, and ophthalmic procedures.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail in managing complex schedules and patient records.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
