**SUMMARY**

The IT System Administrator’s primary role is SAP Basis Administration. This Support will consist in the form of installation, configuration, monitoring, upgrading and maintaining the company investments in proprietary SAP technologies and other associated Business Software Application.

SAP Basis Administration required skills are based on UNIX and Oracle database-based systems.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage and Support SAP Technical Infrastructure components that run on SAP Netweaver.
- Responsible for Performance Tuning/Installations/Documentation/Upgrades/Patch Installation/Monitoring of SAP ERP and Major plus for BW and Portal Systems.
- SAP Support Packs, Java Stack Updates and Enhancement Packs Installation.
- Perform Client Copies/System Refreshes to support QA and testing
- Knowledge of Transport Management System configurations.
- Capacity planning activities to track database growth, participates in sizing and SAP archiving activities
- Support current SAP DR Strategy and Backup-Recovery/Configuration/ upgrade/ monitoring of Oracle databases in an SAP environment.
- Coordinate response to and resolution of IT incidents and performance issues.
- Indepth knowledge of ABAP and JAVA monitoring tools for root cause analysis such as CCMS, DB cockpit.
- Coordinate and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to the SAP Basis environment.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on IT products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
- Evaluate Early Watch/Service Level reports and come up with an action plan to address the gaps on an ongoing basis

**Project Management Responsibilities (for IT Projects as assigned)**
- Ensure assigned projects are completed on time within the approved budget and above customer expectations
- Facilitate and lead technical design sessions to review and/or configure the SAP system Infrastructure
- Recommend technical improvements and solutions which would improve business efficiency, quality and/or process while maximizing SAP functionality
- Transfer SAP Technical Knowledge to other IT department members including documentation, development and training delivery
- Provide services to ensure new SAP modules, add-ons and critical interfaces are integrated with other SAP modules
- Test and assist in the development and execution of the functional and acceptance test plans
- Assess the strategic fit of the initial design in terms of future projects or upgrades

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- SAP Basis Administration in ERP Application.
- Hands-on performance tuning and troubleshooting experience.
- Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct research into IT operational issues, standards and products as required.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or Engineering and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
- Possess 6+ Years of hands-on SAP Basis Administration.
- Hands-on experience with SAP version 5.0 or greater. Experience with SAP 6.0 preferred.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
