As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of our servers and IT infrastructure. This includes working with a variety of operating systems, managing web servers, overseeing virtualization environments, fine-tuning JBoss and Apache Tomcat applications, preparing infrastructure for Drupal-based websites, applying patches to applications, and ensuring the reliability of our DNS and backup systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain servers running RHEL, Fedora, and Windows.
  • Web Server Administration: Manage and optimize Apache Webserver, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Tomcat Administration: Configure, maintain, and optimize Apache Tomcat servers for web application hosting.
  • JBoss Administration: Fine-tune and optimize JBoss application servers for improved performance, stability, and scalability.
  • Drupal Infrastructure: Prepare and maintain infrastructure readiness for Drupal-based websites, ensuring compatibility, performance, and security.
  • Application Patching: Apply patches to applications, ensuring they are up-to-date and secure.
  • Virtualization: Administer Redhat Virtualization environments, including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting virtual machines.
  • DNS Administration: Manage DNS services, ensuring proper configuration and availability.
  • Bug Tracking System: Administer and support Bugzilla, ensuring smooth operation for tracking bugs and issues.
  • Version Control System: Oversee SVN administration, managing repositories and ensuring code integrity.
  • Backup Administration: Implement and manage backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and recoverability.
  • Storage Management: Monitor and manage storage systems, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Security: Ensure all systems are secure, with proper patching and monitoring in place.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support for diagnosing and resolving system issues.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in system administration.
  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in RHEL, Fedora, and Windows server environments.
  • Web Servers: Strong experience with Apache Webserver.
  • JBoss: Hands-on experience with JBoss application server fine-tuning and performance optimization.
  • Drupal: Experience in preparing and maintaining infrastructure for Drupal-based websites.
  • Application Patching: Experience in applying patches to applications to ensure security and stability.
  • Virtualization: Hands-on experience with Redhat Virtualization.
  • DNS: In-depth knowledge of DNS administration.
  • Bug Tracking: Experience administering Bugzilla.
  • Version Control: Proficient in SVN administration.
  • Backup Solutions: Expertise in backup administration and storage management.
  • Scripting: Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) are a plus.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, MCSA, JBoss, Drupal certifications) are highly desirable.Role & responsibilities
