Job Title: Logistics Accountant

Department: Finance & Logistics

Reports To: Finance Manager / Directors

Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in logistics accounting or a related role

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
Track and record all logistics-related expenses, including transportation, warehousing, customs, and distribution costs.

Analyze freight and handling costs and ensure accurate cost allocations to products or cost centers.

Reconcile invoices from third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and couriers; resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.

Support logistics operations with financial insights and assist in budgeting and forecasting logistics expenses.

Monitor and report on goods in transit, stock transfers, and related financial movements.

Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure end-to-end transparency in logistics cost management.

Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings by preparing logistics and inventory-related journal entries.

Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits.

**Requirements**:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the logistics industry (accounting or cost control).

Strong understanding of transportation, freight, warehousing, and customs cost structures.

Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to accounting in the logistics department for food manufacturing or FMCG sector.

Knowledge of import/export documentation and regulatory requirements.

Familiarity with inventory cost control and goods movement tracking.

Work pattern: On-site, 6 days a week
