System Administrator

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:

- Working in a shift rotation as part of our 24x7 service operation.
- Server Administration: Administer and maintain Windows, Linux, and VMware servers to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Server Migration: Plan and execute server migrations with mínimal downtime, ensuring data integrity and system reliability throughout the process.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Continuously monitor server components, including hardware, software, and network interfaces, to detect and resolve issues promptly. Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure system stability and performance.
- Patching and Updates: Conduct regular patching activities to maintain server security and compliance with industry standards. Ensure all servers are up-to-date with the latest security patches and software updates.
- Storage Management: Administer and maintain storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and DAS. Monitor storage performance and capacity, and perform regular backups and recovery tests to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve server and storage-related issues, including hardware failures, software conflicts, and network problems. Provide timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime and disruption.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of server and storage configurations, procedures, and changes. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.
- Security: Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect server and storage infrastructure from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of a disaster or system failure. Perform regular backup tests to verify the effectiveness of recovery procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- 4-7 years of experience in Windows, Linux, and VMware Server administration.
- Proven experience in server migration, monitoring, patching, and storage management.
- Strong understanding of server and storage hardware and software components.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Red Hat Certified System Administrator, VMware Certified Professional) are a plus.

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
