**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Responsible for underwriting complete product offerings including automated and manual underwriting of mortgage loans.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in the analysis of required documentation while mitigating organization risk through appropriate decision making.
- In depth knowledge of all legal, compliance, regulatory and investor requirements for the product set.
- Develop and maintain a loan underwriting portfolio consistent with guidelines for credit quality and Investor or Insurer standards.
- Ability to calculate income (salaried as well as self employed) to accurately determine Debt to Income ratio
- Respond to quality control and audit reviews when requested in a timely manner.
- Approve and/or deny loans within certain limits and make credit structure and loan eligibility decisions.
- Proactively suggest program alternatives for customers who do not qualify for terms initially submitted.
- Ability to manage and underwrite a big pipeline of loans with speed and accuracy

**Experience**:

- 2+ years mortgage UW and industry experience
- Extensive knowledge of underwriting guidelines
- Experience with and designations for FHA, VA loans underwriting preferred
- Detail and organizational skills
- Excellent Customer service skills along with written and verbal communication skills
- High School or Equivalent (GED) required, Certification, Licensure or other education training
