Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), RBG Labs, IIT Madras, is a think tank funded by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. We provide guidance and expertise to various stakeholders, including state governments and industry bodies, on all aspects of road safety. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, we adhere to the principle of an Integrated Systems approach, focusing on the 5E’s: Engineering, Enforcement, Emergency, and Education, bolstered by Empathy (Human Factors). What are we looking for in you:

- Ability to design, maintain and ensure high availability solutions including replication, clustering, partitioning and hot standby scenarios
- Can manage regular DBA activities and routine tasks to ensure database remains healthy and responds below specific thresholds in certain conditions
- Can connect multiple databases or remote tables remotely and securely for data distribution
- Can set up and management multiple database environments region or cloud provider wise to ensure multi region availability for low latency queries
- Can cover all aspects of database such as security, integrity, stability and smooth performance

Eligibility Criteria:

- 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL 14 in handling large amounts of data in efficient manner as per business requirements.
- Preferrable to have experience with NoSQL database such as MongoDB and ability to move data between multiple database systems efficiently
- Experience with Linux environment, bash commands and basic tools to manage deployments
- Hands on experience on Elastic search and Knowledge in ETL tools.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of indexes, triggers, constraints, policies, sequences, custom types (enumeration and composite) etc. and
- Must have practical experience with views and materialized views to ensure efficient and high speed-read queries
- Prior experience of Design, document and implement database disaster recovery procedures is preferred.
