Overview:
The VMWare administrator will be responsible for participating in projects and daily tasks that will create and develop new Virtualization infrastructure architecture, critical organizational initiatives and the implementation of core infrastructure systems. This role will work in a team environment with other Engineers and Architects as well as key Operations personnel. This role requires an individual who can successfully work across multiple levels - with customers, teammates, vendors, and Executive Management. The VMWare administrator must possess a comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure combined with the ability to execute technical solutions that meet the needs of the Organization.

- Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values.
- Provides clear and accurate communications with customers regarding the status of their order in a timely fashion.
- Provides clear & accurate communications to the participating project manager regarding assigned tasks in order to meet implementation deadlines and objectives.
- Responsible for development & execution of processes and control systems to ensure the consistent delivery of highly available Virtualization platforms.
- Completes assigned installs and implementation projects in a timely fashion.
- Develops documentation of environments to accurately reflect the as-built information of the solution design and includes details of our Virtualization environments.
- Act as the primary resource for ensuring the successful completion of tasks assigned to deploy Virtualization solutions.
- Alerts supervisor and project management representative of any hardware or Virtualization issues impacting delivery of services.
- Has demonstrated a broader or advanced skill set and successfully completed advanced training to be able to provide support for more complex problem resolution.
- Experienced VMWare engineer, solid experience in designing, operating, and troubleshooting large scale VMWare deployments.
- Requires strong scripting / automation and Linux operating system management.
- Troubleshooting and triaging of system alerts.
- Work with vendors on service requests and drive resolution.
- Handling day to day VMWare vSphere operations work.
- Performance analysis of overall system health.
- Datastore management and troubleshooting.
- Network configuration and performance.
- Work with team to identify and automate VMWare operational tasks.
- Disk and Network management.
- Troubleshooting performance or configuration issues.
- Maintain documentation and update periodically.
- Escalate and communicate as per standard operating procedures.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications / Requirements**
- 5-8 years of experience in Information Technology roles.
- Demonstrated experience working with technologies such as VSphere, VCenter, VCD,
- Experience providing Tier II level technical engineering support in a large-scale virtualized VMWare 6.0/6.5/7.0 infrastructure environment.
- Experience and knowledge with designing, installing and implementing VMware ESX server, VMware virtual center, setting up VMotion, HA, DRS, VM Workstation, VMware converter VM Backup products and other products for virtualization.
- Understanding of VMware Networking concepts like creation of Vswitches, different types of port groups, NIC Teaming and VLAN Problem management on VMware ESX 6.X and Virtual Center and motion.
- Must demonstrate strong, customer focused communications skills, and the ability to conduct yourself professionally in all situations.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Will be an escalation point to teammate questions and requests for assistance.
- May be called upon to act as a team technical representative for discussions such as approvals, advising sales, solutions designing, etc.
- Ability to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines.

**Preferred Experience**
- 5-8 years experience particularly in the data center industry.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
