This is an opportunity to join NYC's specialist Mental Health Social Care team in either of the beautiful towns of Harrogate or Skipton as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP). You will be a qualified Social Worker and AMHP keen to promote the recovery of people with mental health needs through creative, safe and person centred practice.

As an AMHP you will be working within a social care service of specialist Social Workers and Support Time Recovery Workers as well as with your AMHP peers across the locality. You will also be part of a county wide service, led by a dedicated AMHP Lead, that supports and promotes best AMHP practice and CPD to meet your own professional needs. This includes regular County Forums, regular Legal Updates, a range of bespoke AMHP training courses, and access to the Yorkshire AMHP conferences and network. We also encourage and support AMHPs to act as Practice Educators to support our Social Worker to grow into the AMHP role through training with University of Central Lancashire.

Mental Health Social Care work closely alongside our Health colleagues in TEWV and BDCT NHS Trusts and you will be expected to work in partnership with them to ensure local people get the right support at the right time. As an assessor under the Care Act 2014 you will also be working closely with our partners in the voluntary sector, and the wider Council and promoting opportunities within universal services, especially to promote least restrictive options, creative solutions to crisis situations, and promoting people's independence and human rights.

You will be expected to work flexible hours in order to meet the demands of the service, with the opportunity to work 12-8pm shifts as part of, or all, of your working week.
