- Coordinate with the warehouse team to manage stock levels and reorder as necessary.
- Implement inventory control systems to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- **Cost Management**:
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and pricing.
- Prepare cost analyses and reports for management review.
- **Quality Assurance**:
- Ensure that all purchased goods and services meet the required quality standards.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to address any issues related to supplier quality.
- Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to maintain high standards.
- **Contract Management**:
- Draft, review, and manage contracts with suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with terms and conditions of contracts.
- Renew or terminate contracts based on performance and company needs.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with legal and company policies.
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration**:
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., finance, operations, and logistics) to ensure alignment of procurement activities with organizational goals.
- Participate in meetings to discuss procurement needs and strategies.
- **Market Analysis**:
- Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and products.
- Stay updated on market trends, changes in demand, and new technologies.
- **Risk Management**:
- Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement and supply chain disruptions.
- Develop contingency plans to manage supply chain risks.
- **Sustainability and Ethical Sourcing**:
- Promote and ensure ethical sourcing practices.
- Develop and implement sustainable procurement policies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Good understanding of supply chain management.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of market research and data analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)) is a plus.
