The Trading Intern role will include monitoring trade activity for both loans and bonds, communicating regularly with the trade desk, and tracking changes in market pricing & spreads. Based on the sophistication and complex needs of the team, they require a dedicated resource to assist Traders with Reporting and Data Analytics. The position requires an individual with previous knowledge and/ or a strong interest in Capital Markets and more specifically the US mortgage industry. Advanced excel skills are highly preferred, and mortgage industry experience is preferred.

**JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Secondary team in updating the pricing & risk management system used to value the loan position.
- Produce and enhance existing analytics suite to be used to support trading and P&L explain activities.
- Review daily pipeline reports to identify and resolve issues, deviations, or areas of concern.
- Work with Traders to remediate any issues with the systems related to valuations or position management.
- Assist with the development of rate sheets, heatmaps and valuation calculations for existing and new products.
- Support development of daily analytics to monitor the position and automate early detection of issues. Assist error or issue tracking and provide root cause analysis.

**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree preferred; with focus in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in secondary marketing, trading, valuations, and/or capital markets
- Ability to interface confidently with internal/external parties
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills highly preferred, and SQL or programming experience preferred
- Strong data analysis experience required
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Superior communication skills and ability to work well with others Self-motivated and capable of working independently
