Senior Engineer

The Information Systems Engineer designs information systems that are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. Under limited supervision, this job is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's operating systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Formulates system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.
- Evaluates and implements changes to existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
- Reviews flow charts, models, and procedures and feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.
- Reviews technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.
- Collaborates with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and to determine project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, systems performance standards, and interfaces.
- Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications and consequences of various proposed system changes.
- Educates end users on system designs and functionalities through creation of training materials and conducting demos.Educational Requirements

Position Summary:
Provide technical services (Architect, Install and Configure) and coordination with core infrastructure teams including server, network, storage, software and middleware.

Must to Have: IBM MQ, Confluent Kafka

Good to Have: IBM MQFTE, Ansible, Python, File Transfer tools (Sterling Integrator, Connect Direct)

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Management/Leadership Responsibility: Is management of people a primary focus of the role? If so, how many direct and indirect employees are managed? Do any of them manage a function or process?
- Ensures stability and reliability of infrastructure components through proactive maintenance and incident resolution
- Improves and automates tasks associated with building, configuring, patching, and upgrading core infrastructure platforms, hardware, and software
- Operation and maintenance of core infrastructure platforms and cross-platform integration support
- Implements new infrastructure components in a systematic manner adhering to established standards
- Continual service improvement of infrastructure platforms
- Full ownership for one or more processes, procedures or products.
Makes recommendation’s and work assignments
- Good knowledge of ITIL process
- Drives problems to root cause through partnership with Application Development and engineers, ensuring knowledge is captured for future events
