Admission Counsellor

Responsibilities:

- Student Recruitment: Implement recruitment strategies to attract prospective students, including high school visits, college fairs, information sessions, and virtual events. Represent the institution positively and effectively communicate its mission, values, and educational offerings to prospective students and their families.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the institution and generate referrals. Cultivate positive rapport with prospective students and their families, demonstrating empathy, understanding, and responsiveness to their needs and concerns.
- Campus Tours and Events: Coordinate campus tours, open houses, and admissions events to showcase the institution's facilities, programs, and campus culture. Lead campus tours, conduct information sessions, and participate in recruitment events to engage prospective students and provide them with a memorable and informative experience.
- Financial Aid Assistance: Collaborate with financial aid counselors to educate prospective students and families about financial aid options, scholarship opportunities, and tuition payment plans. Assist students in understanding the cost of attendance and available funding sources to support their educational goals.
- Admissions Marketing: Contribute to the development of admissions marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, social media posts, and website content. Provide input on messaging, branding, and outreach strategies to attract and engage prospective students across diverse channels.
- Professional Development: Stay informed about trends and best practices in admissions counseling, higher education, and student recruitment. Participate in professional development opportunities, workshops, and conferences to enhance your skills and knowledge in admissions counseling and enrollment management.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in admissions, academic departments, student services, and other campus units to facilitate a seamless transition for admitted students and support their successful enrollment and integration into the institution.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Marketing, Communication, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in admissions, recruitment, counseling, or related fields, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of college admissions policies, procedures, and requirements, including familiarity with standardized testing, transcript evaluation, and financial aid.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using technology for communication, data management, and recruitment purposes, including Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and social media platforms.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and the ability to promote an inclusive and welcoming environment for all prospective students.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed for recruitment events, college fairs, and other outreach activities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
