The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a **Gender Advisor - Global **to lead on the development and integration of impact monitoring tools, standards and mechanisms for GAIN’s mainstreaming gender activity across our global portfolio of programme work.
**About GAIN**
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable to malnutrition.
**About the Role**
Reporting to the Senior Technical Specialist, Gender Lead, the postholder will drive the implementation of practical tools and standards for considering gender throughout the project lifecycle across our Africa and Asia programme offices. This will include employing a monitoring system to facilitate the substantive integration of gender into activities and evaluating and tracking impact.
**Key Responsibilities include;**
- Developing key tools, standards, and mechanisms for integrating gender considerations into projects, including establishing tools and standards for budgeting, monitoring and the identification of standard outcomes and impact indicators
- Advising on fundraising opportunities and integrating gender into proposals working closely with the Senior Leadership team and Development Office
- Working closely with project teams to ensure the usefulness and practicality of the tools and mechanisms throughout the project lifecycle
- Developing and employing a monitoring system for gender at institutional and project levels, in collaboration with Programme Monitoring and Improvement Lead and reporting regularly to staff and the board
- Updating the gender strategy and advising on other relevant strategies as needed
- Based on existing context-specific evidence, consulting with project teams to provide tailored technical advice on how to incorporate gender considerations into results tracking and evaluations
- Periodically assessing progress on gender mainstreaming and advising Senior Leadership Team to course correct when necessary
- Identifying and leading opportunities to generate and disseminate global public goods (e.g., tools, publications, and papers in GAIN paper series, among others)
- Advising on integrating gender into policy and external relations outreach, and supporting advocacy initiatives to improve the enabling environment around gender
- Representing GAIN in global fora and communicating with external audiences, as well as building strategic relationships with regional partners including policymakers and NGOs.

**About You**
- and Middle-Income countries within nutrition, food security, policy, advocacy and/or related programme areas, providing technical support, research, or evaluation (ideally within the international development, civil society, NGO sector).
You will have demonstrable experience of integrating new concepts and working with project / programme staff and multi-disciplinary teams at varying levels with an in‐depth understanding of programme issues and advocacy work at organizational, national and international levels.
In addition to this, you will posess excellent M&E and data analysis skills, with an understanding of measuring and monitoring gender equitable outcomes, women’s empowerment/agency, and related topics in projects alongside an excellent understanding of nutrition and food systems concepts and measurement/monitoring.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) alongside exceptional public speaking skills will be essential to this role, with the ability to communicate technical content to multi-disciplinary teams with varying levels of technical knowledge.
**About our Offer**
The starting salary for each office is as follows, depending on experience:

- **India**:From INR 1,699,368 - INR 1,944,456 (gross) per annum
- **United Kingdom**:From GBP 47,438 - GBP 50,844 (gross) per annum
