Drama Teacher

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Speech & Theatre Coaching**:

- Plan and deliver engaging speech and theatre coaching sessions for students, focusing on voice training, diction, public speaking, and acting techniques.
- Teach students how to express themselves clearly, confidently, and creatively in a variety of settings, including performances, presentations, and public speaking events.
- Work with students on dramatic techniques, including character development, blocking, improvisation, and stage presence.
- Provide individualized coaching to help students refine their performance skills, enhance vocal delivery, and improve communication effectiveness.
- **Rehearsal & Performance Preparation**:

- Prepare students for school productions, speech competitions, and theatre performances by developing rehearsals and guiding the students through their roles or speeches.
- Lead rehearsals for school plays, skits, monologues, and speech contests, ensuring that students are well-prepared for public performances.
- Guide students in the selection of appropriate pieces for speech contests or auditions, providing constructive feedback and direction.
- **Performance & Event Coordination**:

- Assist in organizing and coordinating school events, such as drama productions, speech contests, or talent shows, ensuring smooth operation and student participation.
- Support students during performances, ensuring they are confident and prepared for on-stage presentations.
- Collaborate with other staff members (e.g., stage crew, music teachers, etc.) to ensure all aspects of performances are cohesive.
- **Student Development**:

- Foster a safe and supportive learning environment where students can explore their creativity and improve their self-expression.
- Encourage students to develop their public speaking and acting abilities, helping them build confidence and reduce stage fright.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their performances, focusing on improvement while celebrating achievements.
- **Collaboration & Communication**:

- Collaborate with the Head of Performing Arts and other faculty to ensure a well-rounded and enriching experience for the students.
- Communicate with parents regarding students' progress, upcoming performances, and any necessary preparations.
- Participate in meetings with the school community to discuss performance schedules, casting decisions, and event logistics.
- **Professional Development**:

- Stay informed of the latest trends and techniques in speech, theatre, and public speaking.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences related to speech and theatre arts to improve coaching practices and stay current with developments in the field.
- Reflect on coaching practices and seek feedback from students and colleagues for continuous improvement.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- **Education & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Speech, Performing Arts, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in coaching speech, theatre, or acting is highly desirable.
- Experience working with students of various age groups is a plus.
- **Skills**:

- Strong background in speech, theatre, and public speaking techniques.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to perform at their best.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for the arts, with the ability to engage students of all skill levels.
- Organizational skills, particularly in scheduling rehearsals, performances, and events.
- Ability to give clear, constructive feedback and work collaboratively with others in a team environment.

**Working Conditions**:

- Part-time position with flexible hours, based on rehearsals, performances, and school events.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required for performances, rehearsals, and events.

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
