- **Key Responsibilities**:_
- Assist the Head Baker/Chef de Partie in planning and organizing bakery operations.
- Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts according to recipes and standards.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of ingredients to maintain freshness and quality.
- Adhere to established baking methods, techniques, and safety procedures at all times.
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to achieve desired results.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stock rotation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, including equipment and workstations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate timing of bakery items with other menu offerings.
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling and storage.
- Assist in training and supervising junior bakery staff as needed.
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new bakery items and techniques.
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in bakery production.
- **Qualifications**:_
- Previous experience working as a pastry cook or baker in a professional kitchen environment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized culinary institution.
- Strong knowledge of bakery techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Creativity and passion for creating exceptional bakery products.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to stand, lift, bend, and move throughout the shift.
