Peter Lang is an international publishing group specialising in Humanities and Social Sciences. We publish about 1,000+ books every year in German, English, and French, as well as in multiple other languages, from traditional print products to eBooks and Open Access publications.

You will experience an international work environment with lean management. The Peter Lang headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, are the central hub for management and administration. The rest of our team is based in continental Europe, Anglo-American regions, and Asia with offices in Berlin, New York, Oxford, Brussels, Chennai and supporting locations in Vienna, Warsaw, Istanbul and Madrid.

We are looking for a Graphic/ Media Designer on a part-time or freelance basis, working remotely.  

This person will implement our corporate design and identity in the following tasks:  

Key Responsibilities:

- Graphic development and creation of layouts for e.g. campaigns, trade fairs & events, and their multimedia implementation.  
- Design and layout for digital and print materials including catalogs, adverts, flyers and others as required. 
- Creation of documents / templates in Adobe Suite, Canva etc.  
- Creation and editing of other graphic media including images, short videos, illustrations and infographics.  
- Designing appealing visual content for social media posts, newsletters and website content. 
- Collaborating with the marketing team on broader design needs and working with other internal departments and external service providers as required. 

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Suite and Canva
- Creative and innovative thinking and problem solving
- Brand management
- Collaboration with internal and external partners
- Attention to detail
- HTML knowledge
- Ability to understand the client’s / company’s needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

- German language skills
- Video creation and editing
- Book publishing industry knowledge

Location: remote, CET time zone
