Job Title: Lab Technician for Civil Construction Material Testing

Job Summary:
The Lab Technician for Civil Construction Material Testing is responsible for conducting various tests on construction materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications. This role involves performing tests on materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, aggregates, and other construction components. The technician will operate various laboratory equipment, record and analyze test results, and communicate findings to project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct standard tests on construction materials including but not limited to:

- Concrete slump tests
- Compression tests on concrete cylinders
- Asphalt density and penetration tests
- Soil compaction and moisture content tests
- Aggregate grading and quality tests
- Bitumen content and viscosity tests
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as compression machines, sieves, ovens, scales, and moisture meters.
- Prepare samples for testing according to established procedures and protocols.
- Record test results accurately and maintain detailed documentation of all tests performed.
- Analyze test data and compare results against applicable standards and specifications.
- Identify any deviations from standards and report findings to project managers or engineers.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing basic maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with project teams to coordinate testing schedules and prioritize workload.
- Provide support during field inspections and construction activities as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, testing methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
