The Department of Physics in the School of Natural Sciences at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, India, has a postdoctoral position in the field of Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake unique research on the **Oxide Semiconductor based DC Triboelectric Nanogenerators**.

**Nature of work**: The post-doctoral fellow (PDF) will have the following roles and responsibilities:
a) PDF will develop and synthesize metal oxides, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and functionalized polymers.
b) Fabrication of Triboelectric nanogenerators for motion sensing and other nano/microelectronic self-powered devices.

**Essential Qualifications**: Ph.D. in Physics or must have submitted their PhD thesis, with working experience in any two of the research areas mentioned above in (a), (b) and (c).

Desired expertise: Experience in following techniques is desired.
(i) RF magnetron Sputtering,
(ii) Pulsed Layer deposition, Chemical Vapor Transport,
(iii) Clean room experience and UV photolithography,
(iv) Hands on Experience in Nanostructures growth
(v) High impact publications

**Duration of the Project**: Initially for 1 year which may be extended for another year upon satisfactory progress in research work.

**About the Physics Department**

The Physics research laboratories are equipped with basic research facilities, which include clean room, thermal deposition, chemical vapor deposition, pulsed electron deposition, magnetron sputtering, spin coater, ball-milling, vacuum annealing, high temperature oven, high temperature split tube furnaces, hydraulic press, glove box, microwave furnace, fume hoods, bio-safety cabinets, cryostat, XRD, AFM, photoluminescence, Raman spectrometer, PPMS, ellipsometry, FE-SEM, UV-visible-IR spectrophotometers, I-V measurement system, polarization loop-tracer, polarization microscope, fluorescence microscope, surface profiler, viscometer, thermal conductivity, contact angle, and many other instruments within the school of natural sciences.

Computational facilities at SNS include a high performance AMD cluster consisting of 8064 cores (plus two nodes with GPU processors) delivering a theoretical peak performance of ~238 TF. Additionally, there are several stand-alone Linux workstations that are being used for teaching and research purpose. Several software for molecular modeling, molecular dynamics, quantum chemistry, statistic learning, bioinformatics and cheminformatics, are also available.

Our library, housed in a modern 5-storey building, provides online access from anywhere in the campus, to the e-books, electronic journals and databases from APS, AIP, ACS, RSC, AMS, SIAM, IOP, Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, Nature, and others.
