Beam Welding Operator

Roles and Responsibilities:

- **Machine Setup and Calibration**:

- Set up beam welding machines, ensuring proper alignment, voltage, and power settings based on job specifications.
- Calibrate equipment to match the size, thickness, and type of metal to be welded.
- **Welding Operations**:

- Operate beam welding machines to weld structural beams or components as per engineering drawings and specifications.
- Monitor welding processes to ensure accuracy and quality of welds.
- **Blueprint Interpretation**:

- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding symbols to understand project requirements.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances of materials before welding.
- **Material Handling**:

- Load, position, and secure metal components onto the welding table or fixture.
- Use overhead cranes, forklifts, or manual handling methods to transport heavy materials safely.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Inspect welds visually and perform quality checks to ensure proper penetration, fusion, and structural integrity.
- Identify and rectify welding defects such as cracks, porosity, or misalignments.
- **Maintenance and Repairs**:

- Perform routine maintenance of welding machines, including cleaning and replacing consumables like tips and nozzles.
- Report and assist in repairing equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- **Safety Compliance**:

- Follow workplace safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, gloves, and safety boots.
- Ensure proper shielding and ventilation to reduce exposure to fumes and sparks.
- **Troubleshooting**:

- Identify and resolve operational issues, including irregularities in machine performance or welding quality.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team for complex machine repairs.
- **Documentation**:

- Maintain records of production activities, including machine settings, output, and quality checks.
- Document any deviations from production standards or machine performance issues.
- **Collaboration**:

- Coordinate with quality control and production teams to meet project deadlines and specifications.
- Work with supervisors to ensure alignment with daily production targets.
- **Process Optimization**:

- Recommend process improvements to enhance welding efficiency and reduce material waste.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust parameters for optimal output.
- **Workspace Organization**:

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Properly store tools, materials, and welding consumables.

Skills and Qualifications:

- **Technical Knowledge**:

- Strong understanding of beam welding machines, techniques, and related equipment.
- Knowledge of different types of metals, welding joints, and heat settings.
- **Attention to Detail**:

- Ability to detect and correct welding defects to ensure high-quality standards.
- **Physical Stamina**:

- Ability to handle heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
- **Problem-Solving Skills**:

- Proficiency in identifying and resolving welding and machine-related issues.
- **Experience**:

- Prior experience as a beam welding operator or similar role in the metal fabrication or construction industry is preferred.

Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
