**Job Title**:Payroll Executive (Canadian/US Accounting)
- **Location**: Mohali SAS Nager, PB India (Onsite)
- **Job Type**:Full-time(Timing: 4PM to 1 AM IST)
**Transcounts** is an Accounting Company based in Mohali, PB. We provide back-office support to meet the outsourcing bookkeeping requirements of our clients in Canada and the USA. We believe in effectiveness, innovation, collaboration, and integrity. We aim to grow rapidly in 2025 and the coming years. This position is ideal for someone with a strong Payroll background in Canadian and US operations. We are looking for someone who can commit for long-term and wants to grow with the company. **Independently Client Handling**:
- Setting up payroll, employees and taxes in different software.
- Payroll processing mainly in QuickBooks, Payworks, Payment Evolution, Wagepoint, ADP and Gusto along with other related apps.
- Confident to take client queries and resolve them.
- Double checking your work before sharing with clients.
- Processing Payroll for different pay frequencies (Bi-Weekly, Semi-Monthly, Monthly)
- Handling Monthly remittances /federal taxes for government agencies such as CRA
- Diligently auditing payrolls for accuracy before sharing to clients with all the required changes.
- Regularly communicated with clients for the timesheet, payroll and other requirements.
- Taking care of Taxable benefit and deduction like - Medical, Dental and Vision in Payroll.
- Tracked employee vacation, personal and sick leave earnings and use.
- Coordinated with Human Resources staff on employee leaves of absence or termination.
- Onboarded new employees in different payroll systems (maintain records of tax forms and employee contracts).
- Reconciled payroll discrepancies timely.
- Kept informed on tax law changes that applied to payroll process
- Understanding taxes payable and return filing timelines for all your clients.
**Day to day work and collaboration**
- 30 minutes of planning + task list review + prioritizing deliverables + collaboration with internal teams.
- Pre-schedule the task of Payroll (asking timesheet or any required documents).
- Reviewing of timesheets for accuracy and completeness before processing payroll. Performing manual calculations for retroactive pay adjustments or special payments as required.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding wage and hour compliance
- Inform your manager on daily progress and deliverables.
**Must have (skills and knowledge)**:
- 2 years of experience working in payroll for Canadian or US.
- 2 years of strong knowledge of QuickBooks and few other payroll systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, where you hack everything and always look for creative ways to get the job done.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to work independently on 10-20 clients with minimum guidance and errors.
**Nice to have (skills and knowledge)**:
- Hands-on experience with Canadian or USA Payroll Tax.
- Hands-on experience with other latest payroll related apps such as QBO, Payworks, Wagepoint 1.0 and 2.0, Payment Evolution, Gusto and ADP etc.
- Hands-on experience with other apps such as Google Drive, Slack. MS Teams, Zoom Video etc.
- Good understanding of full cycle of payroll, along with other compliance like workers compensation, T4/T4A, EHT, W2/1099 etc.
- Understanding of payroll taxes filing ,T4 and T4A filing on CRA portal and Record of Employment on Service Canada.
**Key Expectations**:
- Client payroll handling independently within first 60 days.
- Preparing payrolls with pre-determined schedule with no delays.
- Client’s queries and complaints need to address within 24 hours.
- Tasks & deadline management for your clients.
**The Interview Process**:
- 20-minute phone screening with HR.
- 30 minutes of technical test and one-on-one Interview with HR and **Payroll Manager**.
- 15-minute Cultural fit interview with **Aman Mittal**.
