- Preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in line with the hostel's menu and recipes.
- Follow established cooking methods, portion sizes, and quality standards to deliver consistent and flavorful dishes.
- Prepare ingredients, including chopping, cutting, and marinating, to ensure timely execution during service hours.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist in the ordering and receiving of ingredients to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety guidelines and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of the kitchen team to ensure the smooth operation of meal service.
- Contribute creative ideas for menu enhancements and presentation improvements.
- Assist in the training of new kitchen staff
- Participate in daily and weekly cleaning tasks to uphold kitchen hygiene standards.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of equipment, utensils, and ingredients.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new culinary techniques to continually improve skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

- 1 year + experience as a Commi 3 or equivalent role is advantageous
- Culinary degree/diploma/relevant experience
- Ability to work under pressure
- Culinary diploma or relevant culinary education is preferred.
- Strong understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure during peak hours.
- Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy pots or ingredients
