Lighting Designer

**Position Title**: Production Drawing Designer for Bespoke Lighting

**Job Overview**: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Production Drawing Designer for Bespoke Lighting to join our design and production team. This role involves developing accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings for custom lighting designs. These drawings will be used for design development, production, and installation, ensuring all specifications are met and adhered to during the execution phase. The position requires a strong understanding of lighting systems, production processes, and the ability to translate conceptual designs into practical, manufacturable solutions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Bespoke Lighting Design Development**:

- Collaborate with designers and architects to create and refine bespoke lighting designs.
- Translate design concepts into detailed 2D and 3D production drawings for lighting fixtures.
- Ensure designs align with client requirements, aesthetic goals, and functional specifications.
- **Production Drawings**:

- Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings of bespoke lighting elements based on dimensions and specifications.
- Generate detailed technical drawings that include material specifications, dimensions, electrical connections, and assembly instructions.
- Prepare drawings that are clear, precise, and can be easily interpreted by the production and installation teams.
- **Bill of Materials (BOM) Preparation**:

- Develop a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) based on the lighting design and its components.
- Ensure that all required materials and parts are included, and that quantities match the dimensions and design specifications.
- **Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA)**:

- Ensure that the lighting designs are manufacturable and efficient to assemble.
- Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot any design issues that may arise during fabrication.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to source materials that meet design and quality requirements.
- **Installation and Execution**:

- Support the execution phase by providing installation drawings and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the installation team to ensure designs are accurately and efficiently implemented.
- Ensure all designs comply with safety regulations and standards during installation.
- **Quality Control & Compliance**:

- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
- Address any design issues that may arise during production or installation phases and adjust drawings as necessary.
- **Client Liaison and Updates**:

- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on the progress of the design and production phases.
- Incorporate client feedback into design revisions as needed to meet expectations.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar).
- Strong understanding of lighting design principles and electrical systems.
- Experience with bespoke lighting design and production processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to create accurate and clear technical drawings.
- Knowledge of material specifications and sourcing.
- Experience preparing Bill of Materials (BOM) and coordinating with manufacturing teams.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with design, production, and installation teams.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
- Knowledge of relevant lighting industry standards and regulations.
- A degree or diploma in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field is preferred.

**Experience**:

- Proven experience in production drawing, especially for bespoke lighting or custom design projects.
- Previous involvement in design development and installation of bespoke lighting solutions is highly desirable.

**Work Environment**:

- This position may require both office-based design work and occasional visits to production sites and installations.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including designers, architects, manufacturers, and installation crews.

Pay: From ₹14,532.23 per month
