We are looking for an independent member of our Safeguarding & Ethics Committee at a pivotal time of transition and change for the organisation.

**What you’ll be doing**:
In this role, as an independent member of the Safeguarding & Ethics Committee, you will be supporting the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities in all matters of conduct and ethics, including protecting staff, volunteers, people in communities where we work and members of the public from harm. The Committee’s remit is the governance oversight of Oxfam GB’s prevention and handling of misconduct including fraud, corruption, nepotism, bullying, harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct.

**You'll have**:

- An ability to contribute significantly to the work of SEC the Safeguarding & Ethics Committee, particularly through relevant senior international management, consultancy or practitioner expertise, with demonstrable experience in either of the following areas:

- Safeguarding; or
- Anti-corruption
- Experience of whistleblowing practices and/or changing organisational culture
- Experience of working in challenging organisational environments, where the assessment and management of risk is paramount
- Understanding of a non-executive role and how Committee members can interact with Oxfam’s executive Strategic Leadership Team to best effect change and the achievement of Oxfam’s missions and priorities.
- A demonstrable commitment to Oxfam’s vision, values, feminist principles and work.
- Credibility in their sphere of work and personal gravitas.
- Strong inter-personal and relationship
- building abilities
