ITS Vice Presidency Context:
Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty by 2030 and boosting shared prosperity in a sustainable manner by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 130 client countries. ITS is one of three Vice Presidencies (VPUs) that have been brought together as the World Bank Group Integrated Services (WBGIS), to provide enhanced corporate core services and enable the institution to operate as one strategic and coordinated entity.

ITS' vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.
ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment and effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.

Unit Context

Operations Effectiveness (ITSEF) Unit delivers data and knowledge solutions that provide business insights to frontline teams and management for improved decision making, transparency, and risk mitigation, while facilitating knowledge capture, curation, and dissemination.
The Operations Effectiveness (ITSEF) Unit is looking for a Solutions Architect to join the Rapid Application Development - Web Solutions team and oversee the offshore delivery of product development initiatives. The Solutions Architect will support the Product team in delivering innovative solutions for the Trust Funds and World Bank external partners.
We are seeking an individual with a strong technical background and leadership skills, who will continuously ensure that our solutions meet client expectations, deliver customer value, and drive satisfaction.

Duties and Accountabilities:

- Offshore Team Management:
oManage and collaborate with offshore development, QA, vendor and support teams, providing direction and ensuring effective communication and collaboration across time zones and cultural contexts.
- Solution Design & Development:
oWork with the product team to design scalable, cloud-based solutions that meet business and client requirements.
- Client-Centric Delivery:
oEnsure that the product meets customer expectations by working closely with the product team to prioritize features, address customer feedback, and manage product quality.
- Stakeholders' engagement

oEngage with clients to understand their business needs and design solutions, accordingly, ensuring alignment with IT strategies and integration with other systems.
- Project Management & SDLC:
oParticipate in the full SDLC lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring compliance with IT and security standards.
oFacilitate project communication and ensure alignment with business objectives and client expectations.
- Performance & Scalability:
oIdentify performance bottlenecks and propose solutions to optimize system performance, particularly in low-bandwidth environments.
oProvide solutions for content delivery across various form factors and ensure scalability.
- Continuous Improvement:
oContinuously seek improvements in workflows, processes, and technology use, ensuring service excellence and client satisfaction.
oGuide and mentor team members in adopting best practices and innovative approaches to solving complex problems.
- Reporting & Data Management:
oDesign solutions to build reports based on user activity, usage metrics, and other key performance indicators tailored to client needs.

Selection Criteria
- Extensive Experience:
o10+ years of hands-on experience in the industry with a strong focus on Drupal CMS, including multilingual and multisite configurations.

oProven expertise in solutions architecting, workflow modeling, and delivering scalable, enterprise-level solutions.
- Technical Proficiency:
oProficient in API integrations (e.g., Highmaps, Highcharts, Adobe Analytics, and custom REST APIs).
oExperience with cloud hosting providers such as Acquia, Pant
