**Job Title**: US Sales Tax Specialist

**Location**: Bangalore

**Department**: Finance/Tax

**Reports To**: Manager/Director

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Sales Tax Compliance**: Prepare, review, and file sales tax returns for multiple states. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local sales tax regulations.
- **Audit Support**: Assist in the preparation of documentation and responses for sales tax audits. Coordinate with auditors and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- **Process Improvement**: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve sales tax processes and procedures. Implement best practices for efficient tax compliance.
- **System Maintenance**: Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of sales tax settings in ERP and accounting systems. Troubleshoot and resolve system-related tax issues.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with the finance, accounting, and legal teams to address sales tax issues and ensure cohesive tax strategies. Provide guidance on tax implications for business transactions.
- **Reporting**: Generate and analyze sales tax reports for internal use. Provide insights and recommendations based on sales tax data and trends.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or EA or any other relevant certification is preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2-5+ years of experience in sales tax or tax compliance, preferably with experience in a multi-state environment.
- **Skills**:

- In-depth knowledge of US sales tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- **Attributes**:

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
