**PROFILE INTRODUCTION:

A cashier in a retail store is responsible for processing customer transactions efficiently and accurately, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the checkout area.

**RESPONSIBITITIES:

- **
- **Transaction Processing**: Ring up sales using a cash register or POS system, handle payments (cash, credit cards, etc.), and give correct change to customers.
- **Customer Service**: Greet customers, answer questions, and provide assistance in a polite and friendly manner.
- **Price Verification**: Check prices, scan barcodes, and ensure the accurate pricing of items. Resolve any pricing discrepancies professionally.
- **Returns and Exchanges**: Process returns and exchanges according to store policies and assist customers with these transactions.
- **Bagging and Packaging**: Properly bag and package customers' purchases, ensuring the protection of merchandise.
- **Cash Handling**: Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of the shift, following store procedures for cash management.
- **Maintain Checkout Area**: Keep the checkout area organized, clean, and well-stocked with supplies.
- **Upselling**: Suggest additional items or promotions to customers to enhance sales and customer experience.

**REQUIREMENTS:

- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operation.

**Salary**: ₹9,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
