**Job Role**:
IC - Research Associate Individual Consultant

**Academic qualifications**
- A bachelor's degree in economics, development studies, public policy, or other relevant social sciences is required.
- A master's degree in any of the above fields will be considered an advantage.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Generate high-quality data visualizations and visual analytics for ranking of States/ UTs and monitoring of progress on the SDGs and MPI.
- Prepare and design visually engaging and publication-ready reports, dashboards, presentations, and any other media collaterals, as required.
- Carry out training workshops and capacity-building programmes with relevant central ministries/departments, and state governments/ UT administrations.
- Coordinate with vendors, partners, and other stakeholders in the development of visualizations, reports, dashboards, websites, and presentations
- Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

**Expected Outputs and Deliverables**

1. Conduct data analysis for calculating the National Multidimensional Poverty Index.

2. Analyse data and write a brief on the outcome of the data calculations of the National MPI.

3. Generate high-quality data visualizations and visual analytics for ranking of States/ UTs and

4. monitoring of progress on the SDGs and MPI.

**Professional experience**
- At least two years of professional work experience with think tanks/ private sector/international development firms on data analysis.
- Experience in designing and carrying out data-driven research with excellent writing skills is desirable.

**Required competencies and skills**
- An understanding of India's development challenges, the federal structure, and key development policy debates is required.
- Ability to conduct secondary research with a rich knowledge of reliable sources and data platforms (both government and non-government) is essential.
- Excellent working knowledge to Microsoft products such as Word and PowerPoint is essential while having knowledge of other products such as Access, Outlook, and SharePoint is desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of spreadsheet programs (such as Microsoft Excel), their analysis packages, and visual representation modules are essential.
- Good working knowledge of data analysis software such as STATA/R/Python with the ability to learn at a rapid pace as required is desirable.
- Good knowledge of econometric concepts including, but not limited to, tests of significance, correlations, causation identification, and regression analysis is desirable.
- Experience with data visualization platforms will be considered an advantage.

**Language Requirement**: Excellent verbal and written English skills. Strong verbal, writing and reading skills in Hindi will be an added advantage.

**Salary**: Up to ₹699,452.23 per year
