PLC Programmer

Position Overview:
As a PLC Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, programming, and maintaining Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement efficient and reliable control solutions for industrial automation processes. Your expertise in PLC programming languages, system configuration, and troubleshooting will contribute to the successful operation of complex manufacturing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
PLC Programming: Develop, code, and test PLC programs based on functional specifications and project requirements. Implement logic and control algorithms using ladder logic, structured text, or other programming languages supported by the PLC platform.

System Design and Integration: Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and clients to define system requirements and develop efficient control strategies. Integrate PLC systems with other automation components such as Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), sensors, actuators, and industrial networks.

Commissioning and Testing: Install, configure, and commission PLC systems on-site. Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure proper functionality and adherence to design specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the commissioning process.

Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain accurate documentation, including functional specifications, wiring diagrams, programming guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures. Generate progress reports, project documentation, and technical manuals as required.

Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and project managers, to ensure successful project execution. Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients during the entire project lifecycle.

Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in PLC programming and industrial automation. Continuously enhance your knowledge and skills through self-learning and participation in relevant training programs.

Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Proven experience in PLC programming and industrial automation systems.

Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram (FBD).

Familiarity with PLC platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Delta, B&R.

Knowledge of AutoCAD & Eplan electrical software is added advantage.

Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).

Experience with HMI development and configuration is a plus.

Solid understanding of electrical and control system design principles.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Willingness to travel to client sites for system installation and commissioning.
