**Position Overview**:
The Co-Teacher works collaboratively with the lead teacher to create an effective, engaging, and supportive learning environment for students. This role involves assisting in planning lessons, providing instruction, and supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development. The Co-Teacher plays an integral role in ensuring that all students’ learning needs are met through differentiated instruction and personalized support.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the lead teacher in planning and delivering lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational objectives.
- Assist in implementing differentiated instruction strategies to accommodate varying student abilities and learning styles.
- Support students with individualized attention in small group or one-on-one settings to reinforce concepts and skills.
- Manage classroom routines, assist with student behavior, and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Provide feedback to the lead teacher regarding student progress, engagement, and any challenges or successes observed.
- Participate in creating and preparing classroom materials, activities, and resources.
- Help maintain records of student assessments, attendance, and progress, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
- Contribute to fostering a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture that promotes mutual respect and engagement among students.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times such as recess, transitions, and field trips.
- Attend meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
- Assist in communicating with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders, under the guidance of the lead teacher.
- Actively participate in school events, activities, and initiatives that contribute to the overall learning environment and community.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (or working towards a teaching certification).
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting, ideally in a co-teaching or assistant teacher role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and changing classroom environment.
- A positive attitude, patience, and a passion for supporting student learning and growth.
- Basic understanding of classroom management and child development principles.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience working in a co-teaching model or team-teaching setting.
- Familiarity with different educational approaches, such as inquiry-based learning or project-based learning.
- Ability to integrate technology into the classroom for instructional purposes.
- Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
