Indian Cook

The Indian Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of Indian dishes using traditional and modern techniques. The role involves maintaining high standards of hygiene, presentation, and food quality, ensuring guest satisfaction with authentic Indian flavors.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook a range of Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, and breads.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as tandoor, gas burners, and ovens efficiently.
- Ensure food is prepared according to recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, equipment, and utensils.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to the Chef-in-Charge.
- Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Assist in planning and creating daily specials and new menu items.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and support team to ensure timely food service.
- Maintain food cost control and minimize waste.
- Handle food storage appropriately, ensuring proper labeling and FIFO method.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as an Indian Cook in a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of North Indian, South Indian, and/or regional cuisines preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of spices, ingredients, and Indian cooking methods.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- Basic knowledge of hygiene and food safety regulations (HACCP preferred).
