Purpose of the job

To create high-quality sales proposals and other commercial and non-commercial artifacts that resonate with MillerKnoll customers and internal stakeholders. Participating in briefing calls with MillerKnoll Sales Managers, dealer network, and other teams. Asking questions, understanding the ask, ensuring clarity of workflow, and delivering creative artifacts that tell the strategic story through design thinking.

This position works and reports into Team Lead, Bids and Proposals, and focuses predominantly on the design work needed for sales proposals and internal artifacts.

Specific responsibilities

The Associate Graphic Designer will have the creative, conceptual, and design strategy skillset and will ensure that all bid documentation developed by MillerKnoll is of a high aesthetic standard and appropriately represents the MillerKnoll (or Herman Miller where applicable) brand.

Furthermore, the Associate Graphic Designer will take ownership of the proposal and artifacts. S/he will communicate/bridge the communication where needed to extract the information to understand the proposition, assess the deliverability of the requests within the given timelines, push back where necessary, and add value through her/his knowledge of the product/company/design.

S/he will work with existing technologies like InDesign, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., and will further develop their skills in other software such as Scout Project Builder to create collaterals that can keep catching the attention of our customers and leadership.

The role is diverse and involves working with a range of stakeholders across the international business. Primary elements include:

- Display holistic design comprehension acumen, and capabilities to work with cross-functional teams to drive design concepts, to propose tailored storyboards.
- Work with sales teams, drive initial project kickoff calls in the English language to scope the work quickly by asking questions and seeking clarity, and mediate problems to arrive at the best creative solution.
- Be assertive and confident enough to coordinate, understand, and collate the output of the Product Application and Visualization Team into proposal presentations, playbooks, and other artifacts that adhere to MillerKnoll brand guidelines.

Quickly develop an understanding of product offerings, the business process, the function of each part of the organization, the roles of individuals, and the interaction between groups and individuals.
- Create engaging, market-leading, interactive InDesign presentations for global proposals and projects.
- Develop the visual resources available to support the sales teams as per Herman Miller brand guidelines.
- Be more than self-sufficient, by training/handholding for trainee/intern designers.
- Maintain and manage existing information materials (Product pages/Templates etc.) and contribute towards the maintenance of the slide repository.
- Maintain and manage relationships with colleagues around the globe with an emphasis on APMEA and Europe regions.
- Produce ancillary presentations, product standards booklets, sales tools, and collaterals to support the sales process as needed.

Person profile

Education, skills, and experience
- Essential:_

4 - 8 years of experience in graphic design

Qualifications: Fine Art Graduate with pre-sales experience - utilizing Adobe suite of products including InDesign (thorough knowledge of iPDF and ePDF), Illustrator, Photoshop and PowerPoint Presentation.

Multimedia experience - including basic web design, and producing media using Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash & Adobe Aftereffect, and basic video editing.

Above-average grasp of written and spoken English.

Ability to manage time, managing multiple tight deadlines.

Experience in information design, and design thinking
- Preferred:_

Content skills, knowledge of excel, scout board and digital capabilities will be a plus point.

Knowledge of current technologies and enthusiasm to investigate future tech and the options they can provide.
