**Base location - Bengaluru**
**Position: 12 months contract**
**Experience: 3-4 years**

**The key activities are mentioned below**:

- District/cluster/village wise geography mapping FPOs in Karnataka.
- Identifying key stakeholder groups such as local communities, NGOs, and various government departments/ agencies and building a partnership for effective implementation of the program activities.
- Identifying DRE-based technological interventions required to increase (Small and Marginal) farmers' income.
- Conducting primary research and data collection about current practices of FPOs, nature of business transactions, orientation towards output business.
- Organizing training programs and Local field coordination with all stakeholders
- Exploring the feasibility of DRE based technological implementation with the FPOs
- Undertake market research and field research to identify, benchmark best practices on the above
- Leverage existing networks, and those facilitated through partners to create the required market channels and linkages to enable a robust business model.

**Deliverables expected would include**:

- To study and assess the status of FPOs in terms of business behaviour, financial awareness and linkage, factors responsible for the success and failures of FPOs
- Facilitate training and capacity building on output business and financial awareness
- To find out the extent of connectivity between FPOs and various market linkage startups/entities.
- Identify the best performing FPOs that have potential to take up DRE based solutions
- User profile of champion end users (Individual farmers/FIGs/Grower Societies) for post-harvest processing technology interventions - Focusing on all PHL interventions such as Sorting/Grading machines, Dryer, cold storage, Peeler, Slicer, and other value addition related technological solutions.

**Note**:This is not an exhaustive list of deliverables and activities. The role may involve additional, related activities based on progress.

**Competencies**:

- Someone who extensively worked in the FPO ecosystem
- Proven experience in Agribusiness, AgriTech, Farmer Producer Organizations
- Knowledge on fruits & vegetables trade dynamics
- Ability to travel to sites as needed and perform cross
- geographic monitoring on utilization, conduct training sessions with FPOs and facilitate relevant linkages
- Ability to present information in clear and presentable formats
- Familiar with Kannada, Telugu Language is an added advantage
