Learns skills while in role, tasks that are needed to maintain product flow and routine equipment operation. May include tasks such as clearing jams, cleaning screens, and disposing of defective product or raw materials
- Ensure work is performed to the correct standard
- Operates area equipment or subsystems in a safe and efficient manner using established standard operating procedures.
- Performs cleaning and area setup.
- Performs hand packing, including bulk pack, repacking, and end of line.
- contribute in problem-solving small group activities
- Machine Technician should judge themselves against these standards and should seek at the earliest opportunity to clarify what specific figures they should be targeting for all the general areas below. Machine Technician who adhere to these criteria will meet the standard expected:
**Behavioural**
- Follow the Associate Concept
- Behave and act in accordance with the Five Principles
- ** Output**
- Run machines to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Escalate issues, which prevent achievement of Standard Operating condition’s and/or Schedule.
- Support in ensuring changeovers are completed within specified time to the right standard in accordance with Operating Procedures for their respective workstation.
- ** Costs**
- Operate work station to minimise product and packaging wastage.
- Know the target standards for the machine which he/she is operating.
- ** Quality**
- Ensure all activities that demonstrate due diligence are carried out
- Carry out all the area cleaning by using the House keeping teams
- Under go basic Food Safety training
- Monitor & maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Process Prerequisite Programmes (PRP’s)
- Monitor the Critical Control Points (CCP’s) as per define frequency
- Maintain accuracy of operational records
- ** Safety**
- Perform all the activities in the area as per Mars Global Safety standard ex -Lock out Tag Out (LOTO), working at height, Safety Standard Work Instructions (SSW) etc.
- Carry out the Safety interlock inspections in areas as per the schedule and immediate escalation in case of any failure.
- Carry out the regular toolbox talks with the contractors on the safe practices.
- Understand own tasks and perform them as per given standards
- ** General**
- Communicate effectively issues and exceptions for their specific workstation to other shifts, technicians, in logbooks as well as verbally.
- Seek Support from LM’s for their own development and skills acquisition.
- Work flexibly with the other associates in their work group. Every day find ways to improve ways of working and their work area and equipment.
- Monitor their own performance in all the groups above to form a basis for discussion at their next appraisal.
