Storage & Backup Systems Administrator

Let’s be #BrilliantTogether Institutional Shareholder Services is growing ISS is looking for a Storage & Backup Systems Administrator to join our team in Mumbai, India. The Infrastructure Engineer will focus on the Storage and Backup administration, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, audit, optimization of existing infrastructure environments, Linux and windows. This role spans enterprise hardware, software and operations (scalability, HA, DR, data migration). This position will work closely with the Senior Engineer to provide Storage and Backup operations and work with support to resolve critical issues. **Responsibilities**: - Day to Day Operations: monitor, audit, planning, and maintaining a storage and backup environment.- - Create/update detailed disaster recovery documentation for the storage and backup infrastructure.- Day to day technical support, proactive monitoring and management, evaluation of new and emerging technologies.- Responsible for maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, validating and implementing critical system patches, and allocating mass storage space on windows servers.- Provide technical support (including participation in a 24x7 on call rotation) for complex production systems and services.- Proactively monitor infrastructure for optimal performance and provide input for capacity planning. Products this position administers: - Dell PowerScale OneFS (formerly Dell/EMC Isilon)- Superna eyeglass- Pure storage and Pure1- Nimble storage and Infosight- Minio S3 Storage- Rubrik backups, Rubrik Polaris, Rubrik data threat analytics and M365 & cloud backups.- Cisco MDS switches- Active Directory **Requirements**: - 1yr to 4yrs of experience in backups and storage for enterprise environment.- Working knowledge of enterprise NAS storage and SAN fabric hardware- Strong understanding of security practices related to storage & backup tools.- 1-2+ years’ experience with VMware, Windows, and Linux.- Ability and desire to learn new products and technologies. Knowledge and Experience: - Prior working experience on enterprise storage and backup tools.- Understanding of scalable systems - throughput, latency, de-duplication, reports and resource analysis.- General knowledge with SAN, NAS, Switch Fabric, and cloud related backups tools.- Demonstrated experience with VMware, Network, Windows, and/or Linux.- Good troubleshooting, reasoning, and communication skills.- Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.- General scripting skills. “We offer a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days work from home."
