**Job Summary**:
The Backup Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, management, and monitoring of backup systems to ensure the security, integrity, and recoverability of organizational data. This role will also involve disaster recovery planning, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Backup Administrator will work closely with other IT teams to maintain and improve backup processes, ensuring high availability and data protection.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Backup and Recovery Management**:

- Configure, monitor, and manage backup systems to ensure all data is regularly and securely backed up.
- Implement backup schedules, policies, and retention plans aligned with organizational needs and industry best practices.
- Perform regular backup verification tests to ensure recoverability of critical data.

**Disaster Recovery**:

- Develop, maintain, and update disaster recovery plans and documentation.
- Participate in disaster recovery tests and simulations, ensuring effective recovery strategies are in place.
- Update recovery strategies and systems as required after testing and during evolving business requirements.

**System Monitoring and Maintenance**:

- Continuously monitor backup systems for failures, errors, or issues and respond promptly with corrective actions.
- Ensure high availability of backup infrastructure and minimize downtime.

**Security and Compliance**:

- Ensure all backup operations comply with data protection regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or organizational policies.
- Implement encryption protocols and secure storage methods for sensitive and critical data.
- Conduct regular audits of backup systems to ensure adherence to compliance standards and security best practices.

**Collaboration and Communication**:

- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of backup solutions into broader IT infrastructure and projects.
- Provide training and support to end-users and other departments regarding backup and recovery procedures.
- Act as the primary point of contact for any backup-related queries or issues.

**Reporting and Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate logs and detailed documentation for all backup activities, configurations, and incidents.
- Generate and distribute regular reports on backup performance, capacity, and recovery metrics.
- Provide recommendations based on report analysis to optimize backup operations and resources.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Backup Administrator, System Administrator, or related role.
- Hands-on experience with backup technologies (e.g., Veeam, Veritas, CommVault, NetBackup).
- Experience in disaster recovery planning and testing.

**Technical Skills**:

- Knowledge of backup and recovery tools and processes.
- Familiarity with data encryption, secure storage, and data protection standards.
- Strong understanding of server hardware, storage devices, and backup software.
- Experience with IT monitoring and alerting systems.

**Soft Skills**:

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹450,000.00 per year
