**Responsibilities for direct purchasing: -**
- Keep the direct manager informed of present/future trends in the availability and cost of materials, components, and equipment
- Act as the first point of escalation with suppliers and communicate all unresolved issues to the direct manager
- Periodic benchmarking of all parts/components. Liaise with suppliers for quotations
- Review of supplier quotations and prepare comparative sheets, for managers to take decisions.
- Tracking cost drivers and working on component/product costing-related activities
- Working on releasing purchase orders to suppliers on time
- Ensure on-time purchase of components, products & services as per Sales team plan and forecast.
- Periodic visits to suppliers to ensure work is happening as per specifications and timelines.
- Working on direct and indirect procurement and ensuring timely receipt of material
- Assisting the Purchase Manager in the efforts to reduce the Company’s direct & indirect spending by professionalizing purchasing, spend/supplier consolidation, and challenging demand
- Assisting Department team members in maintaining MIS
- Participating & Contributing to department-level initiatives like implementing and managing Quality Management Systems, Kaizen.

**Qualifications for direct purchasing**
- Proven track record managing suppliers, following up with suppliers for ensuring on-time delivery of parts/components
- Familiar with technical and commercial terms and conditions of purchase. Good to have Electronic or mechanical component knowledge.
- Experience in service procurement would be an added advantage.
- Experience in part/assembly costing and supplier negotiations
- Academic Diploma ( Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engg or equivalent.
- 1-2 years in procurement
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment;
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency with personal computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Ability to Work Well with Others.
