**Role Summary**
The Principal Project Planner will be required to lead the plan, manage and monitor works using the project management tools, including the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project etc. Lead the planning team on projects and extract accurate information in the delivery to time, cost and quality.

Experience of planning and controlling for UK Rail Industry will be advantageous.

**Responsibilities**
The major duties, tasks, and responsibilities are below:

- Be the leader and be responsible for all aspects of the planning, scheduling, and programming of the work.
- Lead functional input to projects, including where relevant leading the input of other Sr Planners and planners, to ensure delivery is consistent and effective, meeting scope, time, cost and quality requirements.
- Contribute to the planning, scheduling, and controlling strategy for assigned projects, so that the approach taken in each case is effective and appropriate to the project needs and client requirements including setting standards and procedures, monitors and reports at project/portfolio level
- Prepare relevant project control dashboards for internal and external stakeholder communication.
- Set up the baseline schedule and control procedures for assigned projects and monitor progress against the plan, so that any problems are recognised promptly. Report on progress and earned value, to support financial forecasting and any necessary corrective action.
- Monitor project risks, issues, resources and CPM and assist in providing solutions to Project Controls Manager and the Resident Engineer, complying with WSP and the Client’s standards and codes.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and controlling input to estimating and tendering activity on assigned projects, so that all relevant issues, actions and risks are understood and taken into account
- Lead a performance culture, incorporating the WSP values, which develops individuals’

capability through an active performance management process, so that not only delivery for the company is enhanced but also the skills, capability and personal satisfaction of an individual is maximised.
- Any other iCRC Rail team related assignment as entrusted by Line Manager/HOD.

**Key Competencies / Skills**
- Demonstrable capability in Project Controls, and proven skills in the use of Primavera / Microsoft / other planning products (e.g. Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis, Microsoft Project).
- Understand and has utilized Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Techniques, and Basic project management skills.
- Advance level expertise in using MS Excel/ Word for developing tools and dashboards for

internal and external stakeholder communications.
- Advanced knowledge of the philosophies, principals, practices & techniques of planning.
- Preferred: Awareness of Primavera Risk Analysis tool and Quantitative Schedule/Cost Risk

Analysis (QSRA/QCRA).
- Preferred: Expertise in PowerBI and Power Query
