**Job Title**: Lab Assistant

**Position Summary**:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to support our laboratory operations. The Lab Assistant will play a key role in maintaining lab equipment, supporting faculty and students, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive lab environment. This position is ideal for a technically skilled individual with strong troubleshooting abilities and a passion for hands-on work in an academic setting.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Lab Maintenance and Equipment**:

- Assist in the development, setup, and maintenance of laboratory facilities.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment, keeping accurate logs, manuals, and records.
- Perform troubleshooting and technical problem-solving on lab instruments, devices, and tools as needed.
- **Student and Faculty Support**:

- Provide assistance to students and faculty in the use of machines, tools, and equipment.
- Support the resourcing and implementation of student projects in collaboration with faculty.
- Demonstrate safe and effective use of lab equipment, offering hands-on guidance during lab activities and workshops.
- **Documentation and Instructional Material**:

- Create and update lab manuals, health and safety guidelines, and other relevant instructional materials.
- Ensure all instructional materials are accurate and accessible to students and faculty.
- **Teaching and Workshop Assistance**:

- Provide teaching support to faculty during laboratory and tutorial sessions, assisting with practical demonstrations and student instruction.
- Conduct practical workshops and instruction in lab techniques, as required, in areas related to the lab’s focus.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: A diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Engineering, Electronics, or related technical disciplines.
- **Skills**:

- Proficiency in operating lab machines, tools, and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
- Practical workshop skills and knowledge of lab instruments and devices.
- Familiarity with electrical and electronic systems is preferred.
- **Experience**: Prior experience in a lab or technical support role is advantageous.
