Lab Assistant

Qualification & Experience: Diploma in Metallurgy (Preferred) / Mechanical. Experience in Metallography - Sample preparation, Light Microscopy, housekeeping and maintaining lab desirable. Please find below the roles and responsibilities of the Contractor requested for Micro-analysis lab:
- Housekeeping of items in the lab (tools, cleaning of glassware, accessories, instrument cleaning, work bench, cleaning material, general order and cleanliness)
- Assist in Metallographic sample preparation: cutting, mounting, and polishing samples as instructed.
- Assist in Light microscopy as instructed.
- Maintain availability of lab consumables such as gloves, lab wipes/tissue, consumables etc.
- Collect/transport materials / chemicals meant for lab from warehouse, stores, chemstock or other labs as instructed.
- Labelling and storing samples appropriately as instructed.
- Monitor gas & compressed air pressure gages ensuring normal/abnormal/gas cylinder empty/compressor stoppage
- Change Oil in FESEM vacuum pumps at regular intervals
- Monitor water level in the FESEM cooler
- Monitoring control panels in the lab for normal operation to detect any trip anywhere (electrical/gas bank solenoid/exhaust air /fresh air)
