**PODTECH is seeking a highly motivated and experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security, performance, and optimal functionality of our business-critical databases within the Azure cloud environment.**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design, implement, and manage SQL Server instances deployed on Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and execute comprehensive backup and recovery strategies for all databases, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Proactively monitor and optimize database performance to guarantee responsiveness and high uptime.
- Identify and troubleshoot database issues efficiently, minimizing downtime and impact on business operations.
- Implement robust access controls and user permissions to safeguard database security.
- Formulate and enforce database security policies and procedures to maintain a strong security posture.
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including index optimization and statistical updates.
- Collaborate with developers to provide guidance on query tuning and schema design best practices.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the latest advancements in SQL Server and Azure cloud technologies.
- Participate in capacity planning initiatives to effectively allocate resources for optimal database operations.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for comprehensive knowledge transfer.
- (preferred) Leverage database-related tools to automate and streamline ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3+ years of demonstrably successful experience in SQL Server administration.
- Proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Transact-SQL (T-SQL) for database querying, scripting, and automation.
- Strong understanding of fundamental database concepts, including normalization, indexing, and security best practices.
- Experience working in a cloud environment (Azure certification is a significant advantage).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to effectively diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to foster productive working relationships with developers and other IT professionals.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks while also demonstrating a collaborative spirit.
- Familiarity with database-related tools for ETL processes (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory) is highly desirable.
