- **Responsibilities**:_
- **Menu Development**:_ _Create and design innovative and authentic Chinese cuisine menus that reflect the restaurant's concept and appeal to the target audience._
- **Culinary Leadership**:_ _Lead and manage the kitchen team, including Commis chef and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth operations and high-quality food production._
- **Food Preparation**:_ _Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all Chinese dishes, ensuring consistency, freshness, and adherence to food safety standards._
- **Ingredient Sourcing**:_ _Source and select high-quality ingredients, including fresh produce, meats, seafood, and spices, while maintaining cost efficiency and minimizing waste._
- **Kitchen Management**:_ _Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, equipment maintenance, and sanitation practices, to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient working environment._
- **Training and Development**:_ _Train and mentor kitchen staff on Chinese cooking techniques, recipes, and food presentation to maintain high culinary standards and enhance their skills and knowledge._
- **Quality Control**:_ _Conduct regular inspections and taste tests of food products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer expectations._
- **Collaboration**:_ _Collaborate with other departments, such as restaurant management, marketing, and purchasing, to coordinate menu changes, special events, and promotions._
- **Customer Satisfaction**:_ _Interact with customers to gather feedback, address complaints, and ensure a positive dining experience, maintaining the restaurant's reputation for excellence in Chinese cuisine._
- **Requirements**:_
- **Culinary Education**:_ _A degree or diploma in culinary arts or a related field is preferred._
- **Experience**:_ _Proven experience as CDP/Commis chef from Chinese restaurant or fine dining establishment._
- **Chinese Cuisine Expertise**:_ _Extensive knowledge and expertise in traditional and contemporary Chinese cooking techniques, flavours, and ingredients._
- **Leadership Skills**:_ _Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a diverse kitchen team._
- **Creativity**:_ _A creative flair for menu development and a passion for experimenting with new dishes and flavours while maintaining authenticity._
- **Organizational Skills**_: Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced kitchen environment._
- **Attention to Detail**:_ _Meticulous attention to detail to ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency meet the highest standards._
- **Food Safety Knowledge**:_ _Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment._
