This is a R&D Data Scientist role, reporting to R&D Line Manager in Process Automation Business Area, based out of Bangalore India. You will be primarily responsible for Contributes significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product and/or solution development as well as associated IP by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions. Uses unique technical knowledge to oversee development tasks. Can act as the first line contact in R&D/SW development/Product engineering for the specific product related issues and maintenance.

**Your responsibilities**:

- As a data scientist, you will have to understand and use cases and key business requirements for data driven solutions in cooperation with ABB’s business divisions and end customers.
- Performing data exploration, pre-processing, analysis and evaluation.
- Exploring and visualizing the data to gain an understanding of it and then identifying differences in data distribution that could affect performance when deploying the model in the real world.
- Providing support for pilot evaluation of analytics solution, technology evaluation and productization of analytics-led solutions.
- Must have proficiency or have the capability to become proficient in development, evaluation, testing of analytics solutions, developing analytics workflow, model maintenance and troubleshooting software issues.

**Your background**:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred).
- Required with 7 - 10 years experience in R and Python. Good knowledge of Statistical Analysis, Machine learning (Supervised and Unsupervised learning techniques), Deep Learning, Model Optimization, Time-series analysis etc.
- Preferably have an experience with Azure IoT or similar commercial or open source IoT platforms.
- Having exposure to C#,.Net Core is added advantage.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English with internal and external partners including academic community.
- Have good knowledge and exposure to DevOps processes (CI/CD), dockers and containers.
